Photographer and Program co-chair at the Montreal Camera Club and CAPA Quebec Zone Director Committed to promote photography and visual art Lorraine Deslauriers started exploring photography in 2009. Wanting to learn more, she spent her holidays practising photography with the Marsan College in the Magdalen Islands in Quebec. And there was a spark! Having a vision and ideas about how she wanted her images to be, but couldn’t obtain what she had imagined, she became a member of the College Marsan Photography Club for four years. Learning from the school’s best teachers, the other members and other professional photographers, she developed her art style. Lorraine has also participated in a Zen and Contemplative session with Michel Proulx and Marsan in 2011. To experiment more with other people and photographers, Lorraine started attending the Boucherville Camera Club. Member for two years and acted as an administrator responsible for building the club’s program, photo selection for contests, etc. Moving to the beautiful Eastern Townships because of her professional career, she attended the Sherbrooke and Magog’s Camera Club where she started to share some of her skills. Throughout those years, Lorraine became a serious passionate photographer. She shared her knowledge by granting a few lectures to the different clubs. She attended a workshop with Freeman Patterson and Andre Gallant about photography and visual design in 2013. More recently, she went to a workshop with Jean-Daniel Gagné and Carlos Richer in the western National Parks in the USA. Back in Montreal, acting as a volunteer, Ms. Deslauriers is serving the executive committee for the Montreal Camera Club as co-chair for the club’s program since 2017. She is also a CAPA member since 2020 and currently on the National Board as Zone Director for Quebec. Lorraine collaborated with the Ulysses Travel Guide publication «Plaisirs du Vieux-Montréal» with two images. More recently, Lorraine won the Photoshop World GURU AWARD in the Landscape Photography and finalist in wildlife categories in 2019. *** Photographe et co-présidente du programme au Montreal Camera Club, directrice de la zone Québec pour l’ACAP Engagée à promouvoir la photographie et les arts visuels Lorraine Deslauriers a commencé à explorer la photographie en 2009. Voulant en apprendre davantage, elle a passé ses vacances à pratiquer la photographie avec le Collège Marsan aux Îles-de-la-Madeleine, au Québec. Et l'étincelle fut ! Ayant une vision et des idées sur la façon qu’elle voulait que ses images soient, mais ne parvenant pas à obtenir ce qu'elle avait imaginé, elle est devenue membre du club de photographie du Collège Marsan pendant quatre ans. En apprenant des meilleurs professeurs de l'école, d’autres membres et d'autres photographes professionnels, elle a développé son style artistique. Lorraine a également participé à un atelier de photographie zen et contemplative avec Michel Proulx et Marsan en 2011. Afin d'expérimenter davantage avec d'autres personnes et photographes, Lorraine a commencé à fréquenter le Club de photographie de Boucherville. Membre pendant deux ans, elle a agi à titre d'administratrice responsable de l'élaboration du programme du club, de la sélection des photos pour les concours, etc. Déménageant dans les Cantons de l'Est en raison de sa carrière professionnelle, elle a fréquenté le Club de photographie de Sherbrooke et Magog où elle a commencé à partager certaines de ses compétences. Au cours de ces années, Lorraine est devenue une photographe sérieuse et passionnée. Elle a partagé ses connaissances en accordant quelques conférences. Elle a participé à un atelier avec Freeman Patterson et André Gallant sur la photographie et le design visuel en 2013. Plus récemment, elle a participé à un atelier avec Jean-Daniel Gagné et Carlos Richer dans les parcs nationaux de l'Ouest des États-Unis. De retour à Montréal, agissant en tant que bénévole, Mme Deslauriers est membre et sert le comité exécutif du Montreal Camera Club en tant que coprésidente du programme du club depuis 2017. Elle est également membre de CAPA depuis 2020 et siège actuellement au Conseil national en tant que directrice de la zone pour le Québec. Lorraine a collaboré à la publication du guide de voyage Ulysse "Plaisirs du Vieux-Montréal" avec deux images. Plus récemment, Lorraine a remporté le Photoshop World GURU AWARD dans la catégorie photographie de paysage et finaliste dans la catégorie animalière en 2019.
